Our St. Lucia scooter tour takes you around the beaches, villages and back roads of the north on Big Wheel electric scooters, with a local guide leading the way. It's about two hours, $99 USD per person, with hotel pickup and return.
You sit, twist and go. The fat tyres take the bumps, and the motor is quiet enough to talk over.
Beaches and back roads
The ride follows quiet roads and village streets you'd miss from a taxi, with stops where the sea comes into view.
Your guide picks the route and the pace on the day, and talks you through what you're passing, from the fishing boats to the brightly painted houses.
Keep space on your phone. There's plenty to photograph along the way.
What's a Big Wheel scooter?
Picture a seated electric scooter with wide, chunky tyres. There's no clutch and no gears, and they feel steady at the easy speeds most of the ride is done at.
Before you set off, the guide fits your helmet and shows you how to start, brake and turn. Nervous? You'll ride at the back of the group with the guide close by.
The tour runs under iRide Caribbean, our scooter brand, with rides at 9 am, 11 am and 2 pm.

The Big Wheel electric scooters aren't rented out on their own. They ride only with a guide, as part of the tour.
On roads you don't know, that's the easier option anyway. Someone who knows the way rides in front, and you see the north without worrying about directions.

Who it suits, and what to bring
Couples and friends who want the breeze without the effort tend to love it. So do riders who've never been on a scooter before.
- A valid driving licence for every rider.
- Closed-toe shoes, plus sunglasses and sunscreen.
- Helmets are supplied, and everyone wears one. Knee and elbow pads are there if you'd like them.
